Kohli hit a stunning boundary off Sangwan just prior, but the bowler quickly responded by dismissing him on the following delivery. The 36-year-old batsman scored only six runs off 15 balls, continuing his struggle to make a significant contribution.
The dismissal put Delhi in a difficult position at 86/3, and the large audience, who had come to see Virat Kohli play, was notably let down by his lackluster showing.
After Kohli was dismissed on the second day of the match, a number of fans began to exit the stadium. Should the 36-year-old not deliver in the second innings, it could indicate significant challenges for the Indian team.
Kohli has been selected for India’s 15-player team for the upcoming ODIs against England and the Champions Trophy. He aims to regain his form before the significant ICC tournament.
