New Delhi: The concurrent scheduling of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) and Indian Premier League (IPL) has provided cricket fans with abundant viewing. This has also kept commentators busy, including former Pakistani cricketer Ramiz Raja, who appeared to be following both leagues closely. This resulted in a humorous incident where Raja mistakenly awarded a PSL player an IPL “catch of the match” award.
Following Tuesday’s Multan Sultans versus Lahore Qalandars match, former Pakistan captain Ramiz Raja presented Joshua Little with his ‘Catch of the Match’ award. However, Ramiz mistakenly referred to it as the ‘Catch of the IPL’ instead of the PSL.

Ramiz’s comments at the presentation ceremony surprised attendees, including stakeholders, and prompted some Pakistani fans to demand an apology for his inappropriate remarks.
Multan Sultans defeated Lahore Qalandars in a match where they successfully defended a 228-run target. Yasir Khan’s 87 runs from 44 balls earned him Player of the Match honors, while Iftikhar Ahmed contributed a rapid 40 runs from 18 balls.
Despite a strong 27-ball fifty by Sikandar Raza, Lahore’s batting performance fell short, resulting in a 33-run defeat after scoring 195/9 in their 20 overs.
“Have been working hard for this day, our team needed this kind of innings. Happy to contribute. There’s a lot of hard work and practice behind this. That’s why I didn’t face any issue. This is how I play my shots, I know my power, I can hit it straight and over midwicket. Wanted to back my strengths. Had been waiting for my opportunity,” Yasir said after the match.
