New Delhi: Abhishek Porel has consistently proven himself in the world of cricket. After shining in the T20 format during the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, he has now made a noteworthy impression in the 50-over Vijay Hazare Trophy. His recent performances not only showcase his talents but also highlight his significance to the Bengal team.

Bengal kicked off their Vijay Hazare Trophy campaign against Delhi with a solid win, clinching a 6-wicket victory. Chasing down a target of 273 runs, Abhishek Porel was instrumental, scoring an impressive unbeaten 170 runs that propelled his team to success. His batting displayed his capability to steady the ship in tough moments.

Delhi batted first and managed to put up 272 runs in their 50 overs, losing 7 wickets along the way. The innings featured notable performances from opener Vaibhav Kandpal, who scored 47 runs, and captain Ayush Badoni contributing 41 runs. Himmat Singh and Anuj Rawat also played vital roles, with Himmat making 60 runs and Anuj remaining not out at 79.

Bengal’s bowling attack, spearheaded by Mukesh Kumar, who took 4 wickets for 66 runs, played a crucial role in keeping Delhi’s score in check. Even without Mohammad Shami, their bowling depth shone through, proving their capability.

Abhishek Porel’s aggressive batting was on full display as he confidently faced Delhi’s bowlers, including Ishant Sharma and Navdeep Saini. He struck 18 fours and 7 sixes, finishing with an unbeaten 170 runs off just 130 balls, leading Bengal to victory with 51 balls left.
