SHOCKING! Arjun Tendulkar DROPPED from Goa’s squad for Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2024-25

New Delhi: Arjun Tendulkar’s underwhelming outing in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy has led to his exclusion from the Goa cricket team for the remainder of the tournament. The left-arm pacer, who was picked by Mumbai Indians for ₹30 lakh in the IPL 2025 mega-auction, struggled in his recent match against Mumbai, conceding 48 runs in four overs and scoring just 9 runs with the bat.

Arjun bowled well against services and only spent 19 runs in his three-over spell. He didn’t get a chance to bat as Goa suffered a 22-run defeat in the chase to the target of 188.

Arjun Tendulkar struggled in Goa’s match against Andhra Pradesh, conceding 36 runs in his 3.4-over spell as Andhra comfortably chased down the target of 155 in just 15.4 overs. Following this performance, Arjun was excluded from Goa’s 15-member squad for the fixtures against Kerala and Maharashtra. Goa remains winless in the tournament, sitting at the sixth spot in the Group E points table with four defeats in as many matches.

Arjun Tendulkar, the son of Indian cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar, made headlines when he switched his domestic base to Goa ahead of the 2022/23 season. He began his Ranji Trophy career in style, scoring a remarkable century on debut against Rajasthan, showcasing his potential as an all-rounder.

Since his memorable debut century, Arjun Tendulkar has yet to replicate the feat. In 17 first-class matches, the 25-year-old has scored 532 runs and taken 37 wickets. In List A cricket, he has contributed 62 runs and claimed 21 wickets across 15 matches, reflecting his ongoing development as an all-rounder.

Arjun Tendulkar, who debuted in T20 cricket for Mumbai in 2021, has featured in 24 matches in the shortest format. He has scored 119 runs and taken 27 wickets. Alongside representing Mumbai and Goa in domestic cricket, Arjun has also played for the Mumbai Indians in the IPL, further showcasing his skills in T20 competitions.

Arjun Tendulkar joined the Mumbai Indians in the IPL 2021 mini-auction and was retained by the franchise in the IPL 2022 and 2025 mega-auctions. After spending two seasons on the bench, he made his much-anticipated IPL debut in 2023. Since then, Arjun has featured in five IPL matches, showcasing his potential for the five-time champions.
