Mumbai Indians vs Sunrisers Hyderabad Dream11 Team Prediction, Match Preview, Fantasy Cricket Hints: Captain, Probable Playing 11s, Team News; Injury Updates For MI vs SRH Indian Premier League 2025 in Wankhede Stadium Mumbai 730pm April 17

Mumbai Indians will face off against Sunrisers Hyderabad in match No. 33 of the IPL 2025 season at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai in Thursday. It will be a mid-table clash with both MI and SRH on 4 points with just 2 wins to their name in the season so far.

For Hardik Pandya’s MI, returning from a three-month injury layoff, Jasprit Bumrah is still regaining his famed accuracy that makes him such a formidable force. After a disciplined performance against Royal Challengers Bengaluru, he faltered against Delhi Capitals, conceding 44 runs as Karun Nair took him apart, struggling to land his yorkers.

Bumrah now faces a stern challenge against Sunrisers Hyderabad’s explosive top order, which includes Travis Head, Abhishek Sharma, Ishan Kishan, and Heinrich Klaasen.

Mumbai Indians will also hope for a resurgence from former captain Rohit Sharma, whose current form — just 56 runs from five innings at an average of 11.20 — has contributed to the team’s struggles. MI, with only two wins from six matches, sit seventh on the table, with much of their success so far owed to Suryakumar Yadav and Tilak Varma.

Rohit’s ultra-aggressive approach has backfired, especially against left-arm pace, though SRH may not pose that specific threat unless Jaydev Unadkat is drafted in.

Suryakumar hasn’t yet returned to his peak, but Tilak Varma has bounced back strongly after being retired out against Lucknow Super Giants, notching up scores of 56 (29) and 59 (33) to suggest a return to form.

Both MI and SRH ended their losing streaks with strong wins in their previous games, but consistency remains the key as the league hits its halfway mark. With two wins and four losses each, MI edge SRH on net run rate (+0.10 vs -1.24), but both teams are still searching for rhythm.

SRH’s top four — Head, Abhishek, Klaasen, and Kishan — finally clicked in their demolition of Punjab Kings, chasing down nearly 250 runs to register a dominant eight-wicket win.

Abhishek Sharma, fresh off a blistering 141 off 55 balls, will take confidence from his recent Wankhede exploits, where he smashed 135 against England in a T20I earlier this year. Ishan Kishan, facing his former franchise at his old home ground, will also be keen to leave his mark.
