IPL 2025: Mumbai Indians sign this star cricketer to replace injured Lizaad Williams

New Delhi: Mumbai Indians have signed South African all-rounder Corbin Bosch as a replacement for his fellow countryman Lizaad Williams, who will miss the IPL 2025 due to a knee injury. Williams had already missed the SA20 in January due to the same issue and has not fully recovered to feature for the five-time champions in the IPL. He was acquired by MI at his base price of INR 75 Lakh.

Bosch, who went unsold in the mega auction, now joins a familiar environment after representing MI Cape Town in this year’s SA20, where he claimed 11 wickets in eight matches, including impressive figures of 4 for 19 against Sunrisers Eastern Cape.

This will not be Bosch’s first IPL experience. He was previously picked by Rajasthan Royals as a net bowler before being added as a replacement for Nathan Coulter-Nile. However, he has yet to play a match in the tournament.

On the international stage, Bosch made his Test debut in the Boxing Day match of 2024 against Pakistan in Centurion, just days after his 50-over debut against the same team in Johannesburg. He was also called up as a replacement for the injured Anrich Nortje in South Africa’s Champions Trophy squad.
