120 Players ready for WPL Auction on December 15 – who will make the cut?

New Delhi: The IPL 2025 Mega Auction took place on the 24th and 25th of November, where we saw teams go all out for their targeted players. The IPL Auction broke all previous records for high paychecks. Rishabh Pant and Shreyas Iyer became the most expensive players in the history of the IPL on the very first day of the auction.

Now, let’s dive into the buzz around the WPL. A total of 120 players, including 91 Indians, 29 overseas players, and 3 from Associate nations, will go under the hammer at the upcoming 2024 WPL mini-auction, scheduled to be held in Bangalore on December 15th.”

As many as 82 uncapped Indian players and 8 uncapped overseas players have registered, waiting to grab their chance in WPL 2025.

Gujarat Giants enter the mini-auction with the largest purse of Rs 4.4 crore and need to secure four players, including two overseas. UP Warriorz are looking to fill three slots, one of which must be an overseas player. Meanwhile, Mumbai Indians, Royal Challengers Bangalore, and Delhi Capitals each have four slots to fill. RCB, however, has no available slots for another overseas player.

India’s Sneh Rana (base price Rs 30 lakh) could be among the key attractions during the auction which will also have West Indies’ Deandra Dottin (Rs 50 lakh), who did not feature for Gujarat Giants in the first edition after being selected and went unsold in the second.

After IPL, the Women’s Premier League has announced its retention list. A mini-auction will be held for the 2025 season. Each team can retain up to 18 players, including six foreign players, with a purse of 15 crores. Here is what the retained players of each teams looks like.
