New Delhi: The highly anticipated India vs Pakistan clash in the Champions Trophy 2025 is still a day away, but the Indian national anthem, ‘Jana Gana Mana’, has already made an appearance. Interestingly, this occurred in Lahore, Pakistan, where India is not scheduled to play in the tournament. The incident took place at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore before the Australia vs England Group B match. After England’s anthem was played, instead of Australia’s, a line from India’s national anthem, ‘Bharat Bhagya Vidhata’, unexpectedly started playing.
The mistake was quickly corrected, but not before the incident went viral, with social media users taking the opportunity to mock the Pakistan Cricket Board.

Ahead of the crucial showdown between Pakistan and India in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, former Pakistan cricketer Azam Khan extended his best wishes to the Mohammad Rizwan-led team. He stated that the team that performs better will ultimately come out on top.
In this high-stakes match, Pakistan will battle to keep their title defense intact, facing their arch-rivals India. Pakistan finds themselves in a precarious situation after suffering a 60-run defeat to New Zealand in the tournament’s opening match.
Should Pakistan falter against India once again on Sunday, they would need a lot of favorable outcomes to stay in contention. Wassan emphasized that the tournament would become much more thrilling if Pakistan manages to secure a win in this crucial clash.
“I wish the best of luck to the Pakistan Cricket Team. It’s just a game. It will be a high voltage encounter, and the team which makes fewer mistakes will win the match,” Azam Khan said while speaking to ANI.
Futher, the 26-year-old player spoke on the rivalry between the two sides.
“The rivalry between India and Pakistan is off the field. In the last few years, the matches between both the teams have been played in a friendly manner,” Azam Khan added.
In contrast to the 50-over and T20 World Cups, Pakistan holds a 3-2 lead over India in the Champions Trophy, including a dominant 180-run victory in the 2017 final. That win came at a time when India’s star batter, Virat Kohli, was at the height of his powers, and no target seemed insurmountable for his side. With this victory in mind, Pakistan heads to Dubai with considerable confidence.
Pakistan began their campaign with a defeat against New Zealand, while India, on the other hand, secured a convincing six-wicket victory over Bangladesh to start their tournament with a win.
