Defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) will face off against Lucknow Super Giants in the rescheduled clash of IPL 2025 at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata on Tuesday afternoon. The contest was supposed to take place last Sunday on April 6 but due to widespread security arrangements needed in the city due to Ram Navami processions, the game had to rescheduled to a weekday instead.
However, Ajinkya Rahane’s KKR will look to put all of that behind them and try to build on the momentum they have acquired with an impressive win over Sunrisers Hyderabad in their last match. KKR hammered SRH by 80 runs at home to return to winning ways after a disappointing loss at the hands of Mumbai Indians.
Rishabh Pant’s LSG would also consider Kolkata as their ‘home’ as owner Sanjiv Goenka also owns the Mohun Bagan football club based in the city. LSG are also riding on a high after their impressive win over MI by 12 runs in their last match.
But the biggest cause of concern for LSG in their skipper Rishabh Pant’s batting form. Pant, who was bought for record Rs 27 crore in the IPL 2025 mega auction, had failed to fire so far and managed only 2 runs in his last match as well.
