New Delhi: KL Rahul, playing for the Delhi Capitals in IPL 2025, achieved a significant milestone on April 22nd. He became the fastest batter to reach 5,000 IPL runs, accomplishing this feat during a match against the Lucknow Super Giants. The 32-year-old needed 51 runs to reach the mark and achieved it with a single in the 18th over of Delhi’s innings.
Rahul, acquired by DC for 14 crore rupees in the 2025 IPL mega auction, achieved 5000 IPL runs in his 130th innings, surpassing David Warner’s previous record of 135 innings.
