New Delhi: India secured a spot in the Champions Trophy final with a four-wicket victory over Australia at the Dubai International Stadium on Sunday. A steady knock of 84 from Virat Kohli and a vital 45 from Shreyas Iyer guided India to the target of 265. Australia’s fielding let them down, with two dropped chances off Rohit Sharma and one off Kohli. Earlier, Steve Smith (73) and Alex Carey (61) contributed with fifties, putting Australia in a strong position. However, they lost wickets quickly, with Smith bowled by Mohammed Shami and Maxwell dismissed by Axar Patel. Carey was run out for 61 following a brilliant fielding effort from Shreyas Iyer. Shami took three wickets for India after Smith won the toss and chose to bat.
