Team India and Gujarat Titans pacer Mohammed Siraj cleared the air about his ‘relationship’ with Zanai Bhosle, who is the granddaughter of legendary Indian singer Asha Bhosle. Siraj and Zanai had recently been spotted together in Hyderabad and rumours of their ‘relationship’ had gone viral in the media.
The speculation began after a photo from Zanai’s 23rd birthday party went viral on social media. However, both have now put the rumors to rest.
Amid the swirling gossip, Zanai took to social media to subtly dismiss the speculation. Sharing the viral photo from her birthday celebration, she captioned it, ‘Mere pyaare bhai’, making it clear that their bond is purely sibling-like.
Siraj also responded by re-sharing the post on his Instagram Story, adding his own affectionate note: “Meri Behna Ke Jaisi Koi Behna Nahin. Bina Iske Kahin Bhi Mujhe Rehna Nahin. Jaise I lai Chaand Sitaaron Mein. Meri Behna Hai Ek Hazaaron Mein,” Siraj posted.

On the professional front, Siraj is currently not part of the Indian team in the T20I series or the ODI series against England, following a disappointing performance in the Test series against Australia. He has not been selected for the upcoming Champions Trophy 2025 next month as well.
Former India all-rounder Irfan Pathan has raised concerns about the absence of a pace-bowling backup in the Champions Trophy 2025-bound squad, suggesting that Siraj could have been a viable option, especially given Jasprit Bumrah’s uncertain fitness status.
“You need a backup pacer, and Siraj could have been a good choice. In Dubai, relying on four spinners isn’t practical. With Bumrah and Shami coming back from injuries, they may not hit top form immediately,” Pathan told PTI news agency during a promotional event recently.
“A pacer like Siraj would have filled that gap. That said, we hope the selectors’ decisions prove effective, and we should support them,” Pathan added.
Bumrah is still recovering from his injury and his participation in the ICC event remains subject to fitness clearance.
Siraj was bought for Rs 12.25 crore by former Indian Premier League champions Gujarat Titans at the IPL 2025 mega auction last month. The Hyderabad pacer has claimed 93 wickets in 93 matches in the IPL till date.
