New Delhi: Star India opener Smriti Mandhana has moved to the second position in the latest ICC Women’s ODI batting rankings after a superb series against Ireland. Mandhana, the only Indian in the top 10, scored 135, 41, and 73 in the three-match series.
The ICC Women’s ODI batting rankings place Smriti Mandhana second with 738 points, with South Africa’s Laura Wolvaardt topping the list with 773 points, and Sri Lanka’s Chamari Athapaththu at third position with 733 points.
The likes of Jemimah Rodrigues has reached the 17th spot in the ICC Women’s ODI batting rankings, following a maiden ODI hundred for herself against Ireland, while her captain Harmanpreet Kaur is 15th still.
Deepti Sharma, meanwhile, ranks sixth on the ICC Women’s ODI all-rounders’ list with 344 points. Ashleigh Gardner of Australia stands atop the list after her tremendous outing in the Women’s Ashes that saw her amass 146 runs and bag four wickets. She leapfrogged South African Marizanne Kapp at the top of the table.
Sophie Ecclestone is on top of the ICC Women’s ODI bowling rankings, while Deepti Sharma is fourth with 680 points. Ashleigh Gardner was at her absolute all-round best as Australia won all three ODIs against England.
Ashleigh Gardner smashed her maiden ODI century against England, scoring a run-a-ball 102 in Hobart. She then went on to repeat the same performance in the first ODI at North Sydney Oval, where she took 3 for 19 in 6.1 overs and scored an unbeaten 42 off 44 balls to lead Australia to a strong start in the Women’s Ashes series.
Gardner has topped 469 points in the ICC Women’s ODI All-Rounder Rankings, a career-best score that keeps her 25 points clear of second-placed Marizanne Kapp. As a batter, she has reached a career-best 648 points as well and jumped five places into the top 10 of the batting rankings.
