New Delhi: The 9th match of SA20 2025 is underway between Paarl Royals and MI Cape Town. Royals’ captain, David Miller, won the toss and chose to bowl first. MI Cape Town, led by Rashid Khan, began their innings at a consistent pace.
The highlight of the game came in the fifth over when Indian wicketkeeper Dinesh Karthik, making his debut in SA20, took a remarkable one-handed catch to dismiss Azmatullah Omarzai.
The wicket came on the first delivery of Dayyaan Galiem’s over, as he bowled a length delivery targeting the stumps. Omarzai attempted to flick it but ended up edging the ball. It flew to Karthik’s right, and he leapt to his full length, catching it with one hand. His quick reflexes sent Omarzai packing for 13 runs off 11 balls.
The remarkable catch left fans in awe, with many drawing comparisons between Karthik’s lightning-fast reflexes and those of MS Dhoni, another iconic Indian wicketkeeper.

Match situation:
After 11 overs, MI Cape Town stood at 85/1. Rassie van der Dussen was on 42 runs from 33 balls, with Reeza Hendricks providing support on 28 runs from 23 balls. Omarzai was the lone wicket to fall, dismissed behind the stumps off Galiem’s delivery.
The Paarl Royals bowlers worked hard to keep the run rate in check, with Dunith Wellalage proving the most economical, giving away just 6 runs in his 2 overs. Although Galiem was a bit expensive, he provided the Royals with a crucial breakthrough by dismissing Omarzai.
