GST collections 7.3% up in December, totaling Rs 1.77 lakh crore​

India’s GST revenue grew by 7.3% year-on-year in December, reaching Rs 1.77 lakh crore. Central GST was Rs 32,836 crore, State GST Rs 40,499 crore, Integrated GST Rs 47,783 crore, and Cess Rs 11,471 crore. Refunds issued in December amounted to Rs 22,490 crore, with net GST collection reflecting a 3.3% increase.

WATCH: Vinod Kambli discharged from hospital, urges everyone to stay away from alcohol

New Delhi: Former Indian cricketer Vinod Kambli was released from the hospital on Wednesday, January 1, following treatment for multiple health concerns. He had been admitted to Akruti Hospital in Kalhar, Bhiwandi, Thane on December 21 after his condition worsened.

Kambli stepped out of the hospital wearing India’s new ODI jersey and was greeted by his well-wishers. With the support of his loved ones, he was able to walk and wave at fans, signalling a positive recovery. He also wished everyone a Happy New Year and urged fans to avoid alcohol.

The 52-year-old cricketer from Mumbai played 121 international matches for India between 1991 and 2000. Though he began his Test career on a strong note, his off-field habits impacted his performance.

Kambli accumulated 1084 runs in just 17 Tests, averaging an impressive 54.20, and scored four centuries, including a double ton against England at Wankhede Stadium in 1993.

The left-handed opener also had a significant career in ODIs, amassing 2477 runs in 104 matches at an average of 32.59. He recorded two centuries and 14 fifties in the shorter format, with his final international appearance coming in the 2000 Champions Trophy final against Sri Lanka.

Kambli made a significant impact in domestic cricket, amassing nearly 10,000 runs in first-class matches at an average of 59.67, and 6,476 runs in List A cricket at an average of 41.24. He also scored 46 centuries in domestic competitions and played his final professional match in 2004.
